Jeff A.R. Jones has designed sets and/or costumes for many of Carolina Ballet’s original works beginning with the company’s first new work, Dancers in a Gypsy Style, and continuing with such shows as Messiah, The Kreutzer Sonata, Carmen, Cabaret, Des Images and Tempest Fantasy. He designed the scenery for Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty. In addition, he has designed costumes for most of Carolina Ballet’s Ciompi and piano programs. He has designed throughout the southeast at theatres including Playhouse on the Square, Florida Studio Theatre, Asolo Conservatory Theatre, Sinfonicron Light Opera Company, and TheatreWorks. Mr. Jones has a Bachelor’s degree from William and Mary and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University. Mr. Jones is also a Fight Director and Certified Teacher of Stage Combat, and has staged fight scenes for the company's shows, including Romeo & Juliet, Carmen, The Kreutzer Sonata, and Sleeping Beauty. He is adjunct faculty with Duke University Theatre Studies department. |
