Sarah Newton was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. She began her ballet training at an early age at Raleigh School of Ballet and became a member of the pre-professional company, Raleigh Dance Theatre. During the summer Ms. Newton trained with School of American Ballet in New York City; and while in high school, she performed in several Carolina Ballet productions including Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Nutcracker, Firebird and Raymonda Variations.
