Carolina Ballet is made up of a company of 29 professional dancers, seven apprentices and two trainees from around the world. Artistic director Robert Weiss calls the company a virtual mini-United Nations with 13 different nationalities being represented. Aside from the United States, these countries are Moldavia, Hungary, Cuba, Uruguay, Canada, China, Paraguay, Russia, the Ukraine, France, Australia, and Romania where one of the ballet masters is a very famous former dancer. In our first decade, Carolina Ballet grew from 20 dancers to the current company of 38 dancers.
