10th Anniversary Campaign |
|
Carolina Ballet is thrilled to share that we have successfully completed our three-year, $10.5 million Make It Yours campaign! Not only have we been able to attain our goal of financial stability through this campaign, but we have also seen record numbers of donors and attendees each year. Our dancers have become stronger, our programs have continued to garner critical and popular support and our profile in the community and in the state continues to grow. All of this has made the increased levels of fundraising possible and it has allowed us to establish deeper relationships with our supporters and fans. In addition, we have eliminated our commercial debt, retained our key dancers, and secured our Artistic Director, Robert Weiss, for the next ten years. Raising $10.5 million in three years has allowed us to lay the groundwork for the next step in our financial development: institutionalizing the Ballet. During the next three years, Carolina Ballet hopes to do just that. The 2007-2008 season not only marks a decade of world class ballet, but also the beginning of a three-year, 10th Anniversary Legacy campaign. We hope to raise $3 million per year for the next three years in order to continue our work as a premiere arts organization while also expanding and strengthening the company. We may be out of debt; however, there is still much that Carolina Ballet requires in order to become a permanent art icon in North Carolina. We hold many visions of commissioning new works, and most of our subscribers and supporters agree that it would be ideal to have live music at all performances. Carolina Ballet hopes to grow the company by hiring more dancers and obtaining the funds to adequately pay current and future members of the company. Although Carolina Ballet travels to a few other cities in North Carolina such as Chapel Hill and Winston Salem, as well occasional trips around the country and abroad, there is still ample potential and demand for more. Carolina Ballet’s many visions would not only strengthen the organization, but would also allow the company to become an even stronger cultural focal point in our state. |
