Graphic Design/Social Media Intern

General Description
Applicant must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver/HTML. Any Illustrator, Flash or CSS knowledge a plus. Responsibilities include website design and updating, designing and preparing print materials for upcoming ballets, (including programs, advertisements and flyers,) and editing photos. Optional projects include Flash animations
and other interactive works.

Education Intern

General Description
The position will work closely and report to the Administrative and Education Director.
The Administrative and Education Director will establish the goals and objectives to be achieved for the duration of the relationship and will monitor intern’s performance.

Responsibilities

Education Curriculum and Evaluation
• Organize and compile curriculum for the education program
• Assist in preparation of report writing for the evaluation of education program

Research, Plan, and Coordinate 2011-2012 Education Tour Dates and Destinations
• Assist in identification of schools for participation in Dancers in Schools
• Contact schools and coordinate tour schedules
• Assist in writing pertinent information to distribute to schools to facilitate tours
• Contact Communications Manager with information to invite press and
   government officials

Research, Plan, and Coordinate 2011-2012 Student Nutcracker Performances
• Identify groups to be invited to participate in the Student Nutcracker
   Performances (schools, home school, service groups, etc.)
• Assist in contact and communication with group facilitators.
• Assist in writing pertinent performance information to distribute to targeted
   groups:

  Curriculum Packet: distributed to teachers pre-performance
Performance Packet:
• Directions to venue
• Drop-off and loading procedures for students’ transportation
• Admission procedures for student groups
• Seating procedures for venue
• General venue information for teachers to quickly and easily transition
   students
• Assessment of performance demonstration
• Develop and coordinate process to supply participating groups with all
   pertinent information
• Contact Communications Manager with pertinent information to invite
   press


Attributes and Skills

  • • Student should possess strong communication skills, have the ability to multi-
       task and be creative
  • • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 with emphasis on Microsoft
       Word, Excel and Access applications
  • • Be able to work independently and as a team-player

Marketing Intern


General Description
The Marketing/ Social Media intern will work directly with the Marketing Coordinator by assisting with all aspects of planning and promoting shows during the regular season. Goals and objectives will be set and monitored throughout the duration of the internship. Preference will be give to applicants with proven understanding of non-profit interactions within the community.

Responsibilities
·         Help develop partnerships in Greater Raleigh area

·        Cultivate new initiatives to increase Carolina Ballet's presence while maintaining the goals and mission of the company

·         Analyze Carolina Ballet's marketing research data and present findings to marketing team

·         Research new promotional avenues for specific shows and recommend course of action

·         Some filing/organizing may be required

·         Identify effective strategies for marketing the Ballet to the student population in the Triangle area

·         Attend performances as needed to distribute marketing materials to patrons and act as a representative of Carolina Ballet
