Alyssa began her training at age 2, as a jazz dancer under her mothers direction. At age 15 she received her formal ballet training at Timothy M. Draper Center for Dance Education. While attending she competed at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Rhode Island and received Bronze in the contemporary category, and Gold in the classical category . Later she went on to compete in the NYC finals where she was invited to perform in the Miami International Ballet Festival. At age 17 Alyssa attended the School of American Ballet (SAB) for the rest of her training . While at SAB she performed in the annual workshop performances, choreographic workshops, and lecture demonstrations. Alyssa attended summer courses at NYSSSA Ballet Program, and Chautauqua school of dance under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. This is Alyssa's first season with Carolina Ballet.
