Rondo alla Zingarese

The Brahms Schoenberg Quartet is a ballet for over fifty dancers in four movements.  Each movement portrays a different style and mood.  It is like “a four course meal finishing with a grand dessert…. the fourth movement, ‘Rondo alla Zingarese.’  Its feeling in costumes, choreography and mood is gypsy.  Wild and exhilarating would describe this section, it leaves you on the edge of your seat.”
—Colleen Neary, former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, from Balanchine – Celebrating a Life in Dance
