Amanda began training at age 10 at the Jacksonville Ballet Theatre in Florida under Dulce Anaya, and with Mary Pauline. Later attending Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, she won the Future Star Award and Most Versatile Dancer Award performing works by Robert Battle, Jennifer Archibald, and others. Ms. Gerhardt adjuctly attended numerous summer intensives including Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and The School of American Ballet where she performed for the New York Choreographic Institute. In 2011 Amanda attended Miami City Ballet School in the pre-professional division performing Dark Angel in Balanchine’s Serenade, Allegro Brillante, and Paquita. Amanda joined Carolina Ballet in the fall 2013 and has performed roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy, Firebird, George Balanchine’s Apollo and Four Temperaments, and August Bournonville’s Flower Festival. Among Zalman Raphael ballets including In the Grey, Frankenstein, The Other Ravel; countless works by Robert Weiss and Lynn Taylor Corbett.
