2020 as Apprentice
Leah Chen began training at the School of American Ballet in 2008 at the age of seven. She graduated the School of American Ballet in 2019 upon being offered an apprentice contract at the Semperoper Ballett in Dresden, Germany, where she was mentored closely by Sofiane Sylve and worked meticulously with Madame Olga Kostritzky. She performed as the principal female in George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante with the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden, Germany, staged and rehearsed by Nanette Glushak, repetiteur of the Balanchine Trust. Leah has performed with the New York City Ballet and the New York Choreographic Institute. Leah attended summer courses at the Paris Opera Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, Miami City Ballet School and Boston Ballet School.
