Ashley Hathaway is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina.  She began her ballet training at age 6 at the Raleigh School of Ballet under the direction of Mary LeGere.  Having grown up in the capital city, she was chosen to be a part of Carolina Ballet’s productions from a young age and was the very first Clara in their inaugural production of The Nutcracker.  Ms. Hathaway continued her high school training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  While at UNCSA, Ms. Hathaway had the opportunity to perform George Balanchine’s first movement of Serenade at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California alongside such stars as Plácido Domingo, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Alexander and Jack Black.  She has also spent several summers on full scholarship at School of American Ballet in New York City, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Jacob’s Pillow.
