Pianist and composer Tetyana Ryabchikova (b.1962) studied piano and composition at Odessa State Conservatory (Ukraine) where she received both a Bachelor's and a Master's of Music degrees. In 2001, Ms. Ryabchikova completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition at Boston University and became a music theory professor at the College of Fine Arts in Boston University. As a pianist, she performed her compositions, in many genres, both solo and with an orchestra, throughout Ukraine, Russia, Estonia, and the USA. Ms. Ryabchikova has won several composition competitions and has also recorded two compact disks as a pianist (both recordings are on the Sonora Productions label) - one with her own works and the other with works written by leading Ukrainian composers of the twentith century. She began working with Carolina Ballet in January of 2006.
