Join us as we shape our 21st Season!
Our 2018-2019 season features exciting story ballets, live music, colorful costumes, thrilling choreography and Carolina Ballet premieres. We hope you will embark on this spectacular journey with us this season!
We open the season with an evening of Russian ballet featuring a world premiere by Zalman Raffael set to Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. And in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Robert Weiss will present a new ballet based on a series of paintings by Czech artist, Alfonse Mucha called Love in The Times of the Day.
This season is influenced by a number of great artists, including artwork by Monet, Mucha, and local sculptor, Guy Solie along with the iconic music of Debussy, Holst, Tchaikovsky, and Stravinsky. In addition, the season features the music of Raleigh’s own J. Mark Scearce.
Experience thrilling stories like Firebird, Dracula, Swan Lake, and of course everyone’s favorite holiday tale, The Nutcracker.
Featuring original music for Dracula and Masque of the Red Death by J. Mark Scearce, played by an intimate chamber ensemble; Love in the Times of the Day featuring world-renowned pianist, William Wolfram; a symphony orchestra for The Nutcracker; and The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle for Robert Weiss’ Swan Lake.
